Lara has been teaching fitness for 27 years, following her passion of health and fitness.  

After many years of training and racing in the sport of flatwater olympic spring kayak racing, Lara pursed her Bachelor of Human Kinetics at UBC, and specialized in Health and Fitness. Lara's first love is pilates.  Everything comes back to the core, and Lara believes that this lays the foundation for everything else.

Lara moved to Smithers with Clay in 2005 and has not looked back.  She loves the community and amazing ski hill, and loves raising their two daughters in a town with all of the outdoor options at their fingertips.  Luna's Fitness is an ever-evolving studio of fresh ideas and sense of community that keeps fitness fun and motivating! She is happy to bring fresh and inspiring fitness options to the community of Smithers.

Lara is certified in STOTT Pilates Matwork and Advanced Matwork Instructor certification, STOTT Pilates Reformer Instructor certification and Advanced Reformer Instructor certification, STOTT Pilates Injuries & Special Populations certification, and STOTT Total Barre Foundations and Endurance.

Lara is a CFES and BCRPA registered Yoga Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, Supervisor of Fitness Leaders for Group Fitness Instructors, Aquafitness Instructors and Weight Trainers.  Lara is an instructor trainer for CFES Fitness Theory and Group Fitness Modules.

Lara has taken additional training in  STOTT Pilates Arc Barrel, Toning Ball, Bender Ball, Ultimate Body Sculpting, Pre-Natal Pilates, TRX, Spin, and BOSU sport conditioning, Standard first aid and CPR.

Clay definitely brings his own style to his fitness teachings.  "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em".. this is how Clay's fitness career transpired.

Early morning Spin classes with his inspirational playlists, and TRX are his forte.  Clay knows that his fitness routine allows him to do all of the sports in his life with ease, and he wants to encourage others to do the same.

Clay has completed his CFES Fitness Theory and Group Fitness modules, as well as his First Aid and CPR.

Instructor: Total Barre, Yoga

We are very fortunate to have Stephanie and her calm nature at the studio.  Her yoga and total barre classes are thoughtfully prepared, and challenging for all levels.

Stephanie has completed her STOTT Total Barre Foundations and Endurance Training, CFES Fitness Theory and Yoga Fitness Modules, and has recently completed her 200hour Yoga certification.

She teaches with such positive energy that you can't help but feel inspired by her teachings.

Michelle's positive nature and humour is infectious at the studio.  With many years of attending classes, Michelle fell in love with fitness, and has since inspired others to share her love


Michelle has completed her CFES Fitness Theory, Group Fitness and Yoga Fitness Modules, as well as various fitness workshops.

She loves adding "heavy legs" to her spin classes, challenging and motivating people to work hard and push their limits.

Mary brings her sweetness to our Luna's Fitness team.  With her natural ability as a teacher, her classes are taught with lots of thought and consideration for her participants. Mary has the unique ability to motivate you to sweat with Spin & TRX....or to bring you to a relaxed state with Yoga.

Mary has completed her CFES Fitness Theory, Yoga Fitness & Group Fitness Modules, as well as CPR and First Aid.  Come and check out Mary's motivating and challenging Spin or TRX classes....or relax in her soothing Yoga classes.
